GST gave a very poorly attended investors presentation in NY today. I've been following telecom companies at the Paine Webber conference (AT&T, QWST) at the Grand Hyatt and GST was the only one that failed to attract one investor during a private meeting called 'a break out session' after its less-than-stellar presentation. One of the concerns among investors I think may be a counter- suit filed by another telecom company (not sure which) against GST. I didn't get all the issues but other investors brought this up and said that GST recently lost a jurisdictional battle. Management didn't address this during the presentation. 2) Also, earnings losses are likely to remain significant even next year, quite possibly getting bigger. be careful with this dog.
