Yaacov, Slobo is using the "talk and fight" strategy used by Ho Chi Mihn during the Viet Nam war. The Vietnamese came to the table about 10 times offering all kinds of concessions, talking peace, and making offers. Their real success came on the ground in the form of very tough jungle warfare. The problem that the Serbs have is that their air defenses have proven to be good in the close range but not so great for high altitude bomber take out. I think that as long as the pain for NATO is mostly financial, they can continue for a long time. The problem for the Serbs is that they are getting hammered on the ground. In todays LA Times they had a photo of a B-52 drop on a village. That was a string of 50 MK-82 500 lb bombs right onto a village in Kosovo. That had to hurt. It appears that NATO is willing to destroy Kosovo in order to save it. -John

Yaacov, either you do not undertand, or (much more likely) very deliberate in your assesment....Bolshaya Igra, the stakes are up....The situation where Russian Independent Contingent in the Center of Balkans creates very pathetic situation....Especially so, when we are undermining present (highly corrupt)and weak regime... Who is to say that new Russian Nationalistic Gvn indeed does not approve wide Slav Federation? What kind of agreement Moscow and Belgrade would have? Who would in Europe have stomach for such stand-off with Russians over what? Albanians? You must be joking... Bolshaya Igra is on, and Clinton's hand is weakest in years...The dice indeed was rolled..
