<<But in the Taliban situation the behavior is so much worse and it is official policy enforced by the fundamentalist Muslim government.>> The principles of law and order of any government are fundamental. There are none, that's right none, that are righteous and just in this world. The USA has a history for standing for sound fundamental principles of justice. Of course we never get it perfect but taking a stand for peace with justice in the world has been out MO in war and in peace. Well up until recently when the repub and dem stone throwing has become at the expense of the whole dream of world justice. That a country that calls itself "Muslim" is corrupt and has manifest corruption from the top down is no surprise to me. I know of none in which that is not the case. As I read your report, this was some local decision based on advise and/or direction from some local religious leader. This again is no surprise to me. As it is no surprise to me to find out that some jobob calling himself a real American beats his wife. I don't condemn the American constitution when I find that there is a boof in a court that releases a child molester, rapist, murderer, etc. on a technicality; I just get frusterated with the system, I know we have to keep working on it. Corruption and evil are not the fault of "Islam" as you would claim. It is a problem rooted in the hearts of men. They may have been born and socialized in a Muslim society, or down the street from you. I definately have some psychos in my neighborhood. Within a population of 1billion Muslims we have our fair share of psychotics at all strata of society as well. <<It should be directed at those who give me the ammunition for my views,.>> When your views are not tainted with bigotry, I'm sure you will find near unanimous support on this thread. When you have a balanced view instead of extreme bias regarding Islam, I am sure we could have some civil discussion on it. There is plenty of room for disagreement and discussion even among scholars of the doctrines.
