The "compressed range", or tight range on AMTD expanded significantly from its 2+ points, to its current 6. Interestingly it expanded up and not down. Something to think about for active daytraders is that if one uses a tight stop in a "compressed range", and is wrong in the direction of extension, is to double up and reverse ONLY for a few minutes short term at the stop price. This reversal is a higher risk strategy, and runs the risk of sometimes causing one to get whipsawed and ground up near the edge of the intraday range. More often though, there will be at least a short term extension of the intraday range if other stocks in the industry sector and market indexes are tracking in the same direction of the range extension.
