--3COM Demonstrates Carrier-Class Fax-Over-IP Capabilities with
Unified Fax Email Inbox

3Com Corporation is demonstrating for the first time its carrier-class
store-and-forward fax-over-IP (FoIP) and integrated fax-email messaging
capabilities for the 3Com Total Control(R) multiservice access platform.

Fax-over-IP with the unified fax-email inbox enables service providers
to deploy IP-based enhanced fax services such as desktop faxing, low-cost
fax delivery, fax outsourcing, fax broadcast, fax clearinghouse, and
web fax. These services represent new ways for service providers to
differentiate themselves in today's competitive global marketplace.

--3Com Achieves Interoperability with G.Lite ADSL Products In a move
designed to spur widespread deployment of digital subscriber line
technology, 3Com today confirmed that its G.Lite capable product line
is interoperable with numerous vendors' central office products and
several G.lite platforms. Today's announcement from 3Com addresses
more than 90 percent of the expected worldwide G.lite market. As a
result, 3Com is participating in the Universal ADSL Working Group's
(UAWG) G.Lite Interoperability Showcase. The G.lite standard, anticipated
to be ratified this summer (as G.992.2), will offer seamless, high-speed
connections to customers.

--3Com Teams with Foundations for the Future to Prepare Students for
the 21st Century Economy

3Com joined with Foundations for the Future to expand career opportunities
for Georgia's students and create new continuing education programs in
computer networking technology for Georgia residents. As part of 3Com's
20th anniversary at SUPERCOMM '99 in Atlanta, Irfan Ali, Senior Vice
President and General Manager, 3Com Carrier Systems and Roosevelt
Thomas, Director of Morris Brown Research Institute and lead for

--3Com Wins Remote Access Contract With Bahrain Telco 3Com Corporation
announced that Batelco, Bahrain's leading provider of voice and data
communications, selected 3Com's Total Control(R) multiservice remote
access platform to support its new Internet access service. Batelco is
expanding its network infrastructure to meet the demands of internal
growth andthe explosion of Internet traffic in the Middle East. The
sale also included the purchase of 3Com's CoreBuilder(TM) 3500 for its
internal high speed LAN to serve more than 2000 employees.

--Japan Telecom(R) Chooses 3Com Total Control Technology for Advanced
Internet Remote Access Platform

3Com Corporation announced the sale of its Total Control multiservice
access platform to Open Data Network (ODN), Japan Telecom's ISP company,
for US $5 million. ODN, one of the fastest-growing ISPs in Japan,
purchased 30 Total Control remote access concentrators to benefit more
than 300,000 ODN subscribers.
