Fax-over-IP with the unified fax-email inbox enables service providers to deploy IP-based enhanced fax services such as desktop faxing, low-cost fax delivery, fax outsourcing, fax broadcast, fax clearinghouse, and web fax. These services represent new ways for service providers to differentiate themselves in today's competitive global marketplace. --3Com Achieves Interoperability with G.Lite ADSL Products In a move designed to spur widespread deployment of digital subscriber line technology, 3Com today confirmed that its G.Lite capable product line is interoperable with numerous vendors' central office products and several G.lite platforms. Today's announcement from 3Com addresses more than 90 percent of the expected worldwide G.lite market. As a result, 3Com is participating in the Universal ADSL Working Group's (UAWG) G.Lite Interoperability Showcase. 3Com Corporation announced the sale of its Total Control multiservice access platform to Open Data Network (ODN), Japan Telecom's ISP company, for US $5 million. ODN, one of the fastest-growing ISPs in Japan, purchased 30 Total Control remote access concentrators to benefit more than 300,000 ODN subscribers.
