Your (c.) and (d.) do not correlate. What is a high end desktop these days if not a multimedia dream machine? You're a bit out of touch with the consumer PC market, methinks.

"Those gamers love to pay the 'big bucks'!"

The only person I've seen buy a $3000 PC was an avid gamer. Who buys expensive PC's, other than multimedia addicts in this world? I could have gotten my PC for $700 instead of $2000 if I had gone with a 4 MB graphics card instead of 32 MB and a 64 voice sound card instead of 256, and if I skipped the Dolby Digital DVD player from Creative and also the Dolby Digital AC-3 speakers and the Sony CDRW, etc. etc. etc.

Do you even buy PC's, or are you just talking out your arse again?
