thanks, bill. yes, i did pour my heart into that one. i will confess to 'using' this medium for the purpose of working out and seeing in print the culminations of my ruminations as the processes of this upcoming chaotic occurance unravels.

i truly appreciated your candor about your 'wall building' rock removal process and how you uncovered procrastination as a motivator.
it is rather 'comforting' to learn that i'm not the only one daunted by the enormity of the prep/EXECUTION task. especially when 'normal' life is clamoring for the same financial support it has always demanded.

i will be the very LAST one to put down anyone storing extra food and water, even toilet tissue if that is all they can "squeeze' out. but, to harbor any illusions that that is anywhere near enough is beyond folly. it is "asking for it"

your pickling cukes project is an interesting storyline. please keep us posted. cukes don't agree with me, even the so called burpless ones. BUT, we have my mother's picallilli recipe for our sweet relish needs. i remember helping her make it in the 'olden days' as my grandkids call it. it only requires green tomatoes. so at the Y2K smorgasbord, that's what we three will be bringing for the obligatory condimentary contributionary.

too bad you aren't closer: i could donate some rocks to that fence project of yours--i have plenty.
