Re: <bob calls for a bear market, and you have some semiconductor stocks that are just taking off! "what will you do-what will you do?">

Probably the wrong thing. <ng>

In my opinion, one should evaluate whether to sell each holding individually. I have a couple of stocks (in DRIPs) that I will continue to hold/dollar-cost-average into. My semiconductor equipment stocks are in my trading account, so I will probably just sell, unless there is some company-specific reason to hold. I will probably sell my underperforming and high-beta mutual funds. I may not sell my star performers, though.

About a year ago, I created a list with phone numbers, account numbers, addresses, etc. for all of my accounts and holdings. Along side each holding, I had a written plan of action for the "bear market call." Perhaps I should update my list.

Best wishes,

I2

Bob addressed a question from a caller about an unnamed semiconductor stock that the caller felt strongly about. Bob suggested in the event of a (hypothetical) bear market call, that the caller sell short QQQ.
