WASHINGTON (AP) - Billions of dollars worth of methane gas found with coal under federal land is not owned by the government and can be claimed by companies that purchase the right to drill for natural gas, the Supreme Court ruled Monday. The 7-1 decision resolved a big-stakes dispute between Amoco and an Indian tribe in Colorado. Amoco won. The justices ruled that coal bed methane found with coal under the Southern Ute Tribe's reservation should not be considered part of the coal the federal government owns in trust for the tribe. The methane at issue in the Colorado case has an estimated worth of more than $200 million.

I have a feeling that the SLB/RIG rumor may be more than a rumor. If you got any spare change, might not be a bad idea to let it ride with RIG. Earlier today I posted it as a good one to own here...

Plus I mentioned it as my ..."if you gotta buy only one" pick in my Raging Bull article today.

How about if you guys buy RIG and if you make more than $179 you will get a subscription to my newsletter? Fair enough? If you lose money...well, can't help that. :)

The Dog is on a RIG roll.

FWIW, I don't own a share myself.
