I'm not going, but I know from the IATV thread that it is important. Many analysts (Soundview) are encouraging investors to buy IATV now before the show, because at the show all will be impressed. BTW, I am not hyping IATV, though I do have a position.
Paul Allen will also be there, and will be interviewed for the first time.
Yeah, I think it's a big deal.

Velo, I am working with Boeing right now on their Delta IV rocket
system and I am under the gun to get things to them so I will not
be able to go this time.

It should be a good one, informative, but also lots of fun. Party
time there for the cable guys.

Ken

Here is an excerpt from my memo to my boss explaining why I am going...

"The 1999 NCTA conference ("Cable 99") and exhibition will feature
all the major players in the broadband cable market, including internet service providers @Home, Roadrunner, VOD server vendors, SeaChange, Ncube, Concurrent and DIVA's Sarnoff server, VOD service providers Intertainer, DIVA's OnSet service, MoreCom, DemandVideo, etc and a host of NewCos entering the space. With the launch of HDTV and the growth of the WEB (aka "Convergence") this years exhibit and conference is sure to be intense. The sudden and potentially dominating presence of AT&T has got to shake up the industry."

To answer your question - YES Cable 99 is THE show for the cable industry.
