lol. Not to be picky, but greybacks are whales. I think you meant to say Silverbacks, which are the mature, dominant members of gorilla society.

The Gorillas (intc, msft, csco, and qcom) survived the May tech wreck in pretty good fashion, and have shown good resiliency during this early June rally, witness their 30 market day graphs:

From what I've seen, Gorillas seem to be the last to fall and the first to recover from sector corrections, which is why I favor the hairy beasts. Kings, however well groomed, can go out of favor for extended periods and make serious dents in your portfolio (witness aol, down from a recent high of 175 to 115 - ouch).

Keep experimenting until you find an approach you're comfortable with. I like your emerging basket, and expect you'll get great results by the end of the year. Maybe you can challenge LindyBill for bragging rights. I can't keep up with him; we have the same approach but he makes his moves before I can finish doing my research.
