OT Who to blame Raymond, I'm loathe to blame the lawyers. They are doing their job. The people to blame are the law makers and judiciary who invent the legal support framework for lack of responsibility. Which eventually comes back to the electorate who put those lawmakers into power. I bet the Libertarians get few votes in the USA. The problem is one of diffuse costs and concentrated benefits and that is the great weakness of democracy [along with the electorate voting to spend other people's money whether they like it or not]. At least the worst excess of democracy, slavery by race, has ceased to exist in the USA. I believe that and segregation continued well into the 20th century despite the great and glorious rule of democracy. But this is bordering on off-topic! So I'll stop. It is illegal to take responsibility in the USA, even in an attempt to stay alive. "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" is NOT a recognized part of the constitution.
