BancBoston Robertson Stephen kicked off the buoyant mood by reiterating a "strong buy" rating for shares of America Online (AOL: news, msgs).

Analyst Keith
Benjamin said a
court ruling Friday
that requires AT&T
(T: news, msgs) to
open up its cable
system to rival
Internet service
providers will help
the online giant.

AOL shares were volatile, following gains of 10 percent Friday after the judge's ruling in a Portland, Ore., case. The shares surged to 120 1/2 in early trading but then fell back as AT&T vowed to fight the ruling. The online service ended the day down 3 1/2 to 114 1/2 on heavy volume of 22 million shares.
