Maurice-We need chip rate help On 3.6864MHZ +3.84MHZ dual chip rate.

I posted several days ago and framed the question of just what are the ramifications of allowint such a dual chip rate. If any of the technically excellent people would please help us out, we all would really appreciate it.

Second queston is whether there is any way to stop it at this point?
Can the US govennment stop it. These Fins and Sweeds aren't even in NATO. How cah they swing such a big stick in the world and with other European countries. Do we have anyone knowledgable of the politics of telecom trade negotiations?

Third question is whether it is in Q's financial interest to prevent a bastardization of 3G chip rates. Someone said no, don't stop it because it is a barrier to entry of competition which will cause the phone makers to be a more exclusive club. Here prices will be higher for dual phones and all involved will make more $ sooner.

Part three has drawn some answers.
Parts one and two have drawn no opinions.

I understand it if the technically proficient grow weary of suffering the rest of us fools their explanations, but if you could do so just one more time we would appreciate it.

Thanks
John G
