Pigboy,

Good seeing you out here in SI land! I haven't seen your name since the old Amati days! That was a highly profitable run! I personally think that Juniper (JNPR) is legit! They will probably trade at $45 in the first day! I also think that they will get snapped up within 6 months after they IPO which I think is going to happen on the week of 6/21!

I don't follow a lot of the other companies that you mentioned, but I know that Juniper is highly regarded by several of the telecom equipment companies out there.

Cheers,

Steve

I think it's because Juniper is winning business the others really aren't doing too much. Just a guess. I'd have to do more dd to really peel that onion. TO be honest I haven't spent much time on this area.

The question you asked is an interesting one. I think there were a lot
claims in this field. Currently, only two of them lands the business.
Others are still trying to fill their claims. One of the most
difficult task in IP backbone Network is interoperability. Here is the
reason:

Service providers do not have the time or inclination to change their existing networks to favor introduction of new products; rather, new
products must be compatible with the existing environment. That means
compatible with 90% installed Cisco router.

The high data throughput does mean much if the new router does not
perform in the real internet environment, namely interoperating with
Cisco router.
