I like the idea of renting a boat, I hadn't thought about that. I am a bit familiar with small boats on the water, I have an Alden Ocean Shell, which is a scull that is broad in the beam (as I am!) so that it isn't tippy in choppy water. The guy who developed it lives on the ocean in New England, and it's meant to be sculled on the Atlantic. But you have to keep going, or you sort of get bollixed up, at least I do. No stopping for lunch, or to look at birds and dolphins.

I have also Dragon Boated, but that's big boats with teams.

I have canoed, which is nice, they are hard to tip over and easy to steer, but the ones I've paddled were large and heavy.

I think I will rent a kayak, and see if I like it. Good advice.
