CNBC reporting that DLJ trimming Q4 estimates on EMC shares, but keeping it as a top pick all stemming from a report that they are releasing today/soon talking about their survey of CEO's purchase expectations in Q4. 22% of the CEO's surveyed indicated that they would be LOCKING DOWN any technology purchases in Q4. IE no purchases in Q4. CNBC stressed that this is only a Q4 event... __________ PC Makers : Donaldson, Lufkin, Jenrette is lowering revenue and earnings estimates for 4Q99 on Compaq (CPQ 23 7/8), Dell (DELL 35 3/4), IBM (IBM 120 1/2), Hewlett Packard (HWP 94), Sun (SUNW 60 11/16 ), and EMC (EMC 53 3/4) based on a spending slowdown that was not reflected in their earlier estimates.....
