Well, what they appear to be doing is leveraging their leading edge drive technology to get long term deals. That is what is different. No one else gets another company to say, we'll buy $x billion of equipment from you over the next y years. In fact, I've never even heard of that kind of arrangement in this business. It must tilt a purchasing manager's mindset so that they will be disposed to buy from IBM if the pdt is OK. That is what disturbs me about it.

And to think that EMC would participate in this, with their rabid anti-IBM history!
