"..SUNW will be reduced to a
bit player. You know it and I know it."

when I was 10 years old and would lose an argument with my sister I would say ...Well, im right cause I say so and you know it...why dont you back up your prescient statements with some facts? will Sun's revenue collapse next quarter? quarter after? when will Merced ship? when will Compaq/Digital, or HP show some top line growth unlike Sun? When will companies like NCR, Unisys, Sequent, Data General who bought into Microsoft/Intel years ago be anything but a bit player?

here's my prediction - Sun will be $100 by the end of the year if not sooner - and you'll be spinning your yarns all over again.

Dear Dale, Intel isn't doing very well these days. Other semis like Applied Materials and Texas Instruments are doing very well.

Often, I have wondered if Intel's problems with smaller profits than expected is because Intel has stuck with the MSFT monopoly.

[But lets face it JDN, Bill Gates and his MSFT minions are the best in the business.]

They have been good managers but not everyone likes MSFT products. By the way, MSFT's President will be on Paul Kangas Wall Street WrapUp tomorrow evening. I wonder if he will perform as well as Gates.

Cheers,

Mephisto

Dear Dale J; Well, I wasnt discussing SUNW, I was commenting on your comment regarding "honesty". I would agree with you that MSFT and INTC are "gorillas" in their field. I happen to even own stock in INTC. While MSFT may very well continue to do well I personally own none of their stock. Not because I think something bad will happen to MSFT but I just personally abhor their Methods of conducting business and this is my small contribution to society by not investing in them. You may feel that is my loss but I feel there are plenty of other good companies out their. JDN
