RE: PixStream And iMagicTV Deliver Technologies To
Complement Newbridge Digital Media Distribution Service,
Enabling Telcos To Deliver Advanced TV Services

ATLANTA, GEORGIA--

Comprehensive solution enables carriers to become full service providers by offering broadcast video, audio and data with Internet and traditional
voice services

SUPERCOMM '99

PixStream Incorporated and iMagicTV today announced that the PixStream VDS5000 and the iMagicTV DTV Manager integrate seamlessly with
the Newbridge® Digital Media Distribution Service (DMDS) solution to deliver an end-to-end, carrier-class system that enables established and
next generation service providers to offer broadcast media - including premium quality broadcast television, video-on-demand (VoD), digital music
selections and Internet services - over digital subscriber line (xDSL) infrastructures.

''There are four advanced, high value applications that network service providers want to offer consumers: dial-tone, television services,
video-on-demand and high speed Internet access,'' said Dave Caputo, vice president of marketing, PixStream, a leading developer of video
networking solutions. ''Telcos are under increasing competitive pressure from cable companies that have already introduced high-speed Internet
access and dial-tone services. Together, PixStream, iMagicTV and Newbridge provide the technology that telcos need to compete head-to-head with
cable operators.''

''The solution enables telcos to deliver premium quality video services, such as interactive television and video entertainment services, that surpass
current cable TV offerings,'' added Marcel LeBrun, president and chief operating officer, iMagicTV, a leading provider of interactive digital television
software for the telecommunications industry. ''DMDS provides a significant competitive advantage for service providers that want to implement a
TV over copper solution to remain competitive in a deregulated market.''

The PixStream VDS5000 professional video networking platform acts as a complete broadcast video head-end in the DMDS solution. The
VDS5000 takes in uncompressed and compressed video feeds, adapts them as needed and then transmits them as IP multicast over an asynchronous
transfer mode (ATM) infrastructure. The VDS5000 allows network service providers to demodulate, descramble, multiplex, remultiplex, decode,
encode and adapt MPEG-2 video and audio signals from a broad range of broadcast inputs to a number of telecommunication networks.

The iMagicTV DTV Manager business application software delivers a cost-effective, fully managed digital television delivery system that enables
telcos to offer interactive digital television and integrated Web services, including e-mail and high speed Internet access. DTV Manager features an
intuitive user interface, administration system, and back-end business applications, such as channel packaging.

''The Newbridge DMDS solution capitalizes on the proven strengths of leading products and solutions from across the Newbridge portfolio and
from iMagicTV and PixStream,'' said Jim Arseneault, executive vice president, IP & Internetworking Products Group, Newbridge Networks.
''DMDS provides the infrastructure, end-to-end network and service management and IP forwarding from the ATM transport edge to the customer
premise, and leverages the unique advantages of video networking from PixStream and managed television delivery and provisioning from
iMagicTV.''

Unveiled yesterday, the Newbridge DMDS solution enables established and new generation service providers to offer highly scalable digital media
broadcasts using standard IP multicast and ATM technologies. DMDS leverages the strengths of the Newbridge portfolio to provide the network
infrastructure carriers require to become full service providers - offering integrated voice, video and Internet access services. Using the
industry-leading Siemens / Newbridge MainStreetXpress 36170 Multiservices Switch and Newbridge 350 Integrated Versatile Services Node
(IVSN), the Newbridge components give service providers the connection-oriented switching fabric and quality of service (QoS) guarantees
necessary to deliver fully managed unicast and multicast transport capabilities directly from their existing broadband network infrastructure.

The PixStream VDS5000, DTV Manager and DMDS solution will be demonstrated at SUPERCOMM '99, June 8-10, in the iMagicTV (No. 1555)
and Newbridge Networks (No. 7715) booths.

Pat,

It would be good to find out the status of their trials as the only commercial contract they've received is for WIC Connexus and that's not likely to materialize, leaving little else to go on.

A little correction to your comments on CSCO/Bosch wins:

From the press release:

''AAPT is pleased to have selected the combined expertise of global leaders Cisco, Motorola and SpectraPoint Wireless as our partner in this field,'' said Steve Picton, director for strategic development, AAPT. ''We are currently holding trials of LMDS and expect to have 20 nodes fully operational by December 1999 and up to 120 nodes being established around the country within two years.''

''We believe the technology is particularly relevant for small to medium enterprises, which are increasingly requiring access to high-speed telecommunications services as well as large corporations requiring broadband services. Both Cisco and Motorola have a significant presence in this country. AAPT believes that their formation of SpectraPoint Wireless will create an extremely strong overall set of capabilities to enable them to deliver LMDS solutions in Australia,'' he added.

AAPT is Australia's largest CLEC and owns all the spectrum at 28 Ghz. They have signed a contract with CSCO and Bosch to supply 130 cell sites, about two months ago.

The LMDS space will be big for all the early adopters of the technology. I fully expect NN, CSCO(via MOT) and NT to play a major role in this space.

Cheers,

Peppe

***OT*** Pat, There is a semiconductor company located in Canada that I feel will be a excellent stock to own. The company is V3 semiconductor and their home page is located at vcubed.com. The company specializes in "direct connect" interfaces from the PCI bus to the most widely used uP's in the industry (i960,IBM PowerPC family,Hitachi etc..). Their products improve time to market because they eliminate the need for a designer to add an ASIC or FPGA to their card design. Their application notes show you the direct connects from a V3 product to the uP selected in your design. I have been very impressed with their products and staff. Ascend, Cisco, Bel Atlantic, NT and others use their products. Their revenues increased almost 90% last quarter and their earnings should start moving higher in the next 2 quarters. Their following is a corporate profile of the company. I would appreciate your opinion on the stock. I have a large position in this security.

Rick

V3 Semiconductor (VVVI), a world leader in embedded systems controllers and
bridges, is a publicly held, fabless, design-centric semiconductor company, that
together with its world-class silicon foundry partners, designs, develops and
manufactures high performance peripheral and core products for the
Embedded Systems market.. The Company's products are co-peripherals to
embedded processors, manufactured by such dominant CPU companies as Intel

& future memory architectures), PCI Controllers and Bridges that include 32
Bit and 64 Bit Integrated System Controllers, all supported by board level
systems (for reference and evaluation purposes) software, as well as full and
comprehensive documentation.

The company's corporate headquarters are in Toronto, Canada with Sales &
Marketing located in Santa Clara, California. V3 Semiconductor is ISO9001
compliant and has approximately 50 employees.
