Lawrence -

I just don't see it. The CR seriously lowered the bar and now that the CX is hitting the channel, I see a more drastic price reduction at each cap than with the CR... I don't see it getting anything but worse.

Look at the avg price paid for a 20GB drive at the beginning of this Q and then think about the fact you can buy a CX for around $230. Scary.

Lawrence,

You have continuously stressed time-to-market as the defining trait for success. I concur completely, as do many on the thread. The maneuver warfare we see in the market provides ample evidence we are not alone; management seems to be listening ;)

Assuming infinite product development capabilities, where do you see us reaching diminishing returns? A complete refresh of a product lines every quarter, every month, every week, every day?

The faster we turn the greater the management challenges, not just in product development but throughout the chain. Firms seem to be splitting into two models to meet this challenge. Loose "chaboel" type structures of close partnering over an extended product roadmap form one group. The second group is the independent dealmakers, each new product can source from whomever and the product roadmap appears as a road map of successive business models.

Do others see this or variants in the market? Which will be the successful model?

Regards,
Lee
