hio: You last posting and mine "crossed" - I don't see reference to a mid-teen price possibility for COMPAQ in KUMAR's published remarks, and in saying that COMPAQ "might" do worse then 22 cents or even post a lost, he was not being as definite as his forecast last quarter.

Bottom line, it is not nice being in a stock which is so vulnerable to the vagaries of an analyst like Kumar. He has been right before and wrong before. I would prefer to be able to rely on the company.

CPQ have deliberately not offered guidance. I believe they are remiss. I think they will argue (I am not defending this) (a) the analyst community have already punished us for a worst case scenario so we may as well wait until the last minute to get everything right: getting things right means fully harmonisisng the DEC/TANDEM/CPQ accounting and forecasting systems (b) given the legal cases we should make as little comment as possible on 1Q or 2Q earnings

I sold my cpq and bought Conexant last week. I smelled this coming.
