E-Commerce: Moving at the Speed of Thought

Electronic commerce over the Internet, which topped $43 billion in 1998, will surpass $3.2 trillion by 2003, according to Forrester Research, Cambridge, Mass. Though e-commerce through electronic data interchange and value-added networks will continue to play a significant role, most of the growth in e-commerce is expected to occur over the Internet.

Much of that growth will be due to increasing acceptance of e-commerce as a way of doing business-to-consumer and business-to-business transactions. And new alliances among technology companies are expected to grease the wheels for explosive e-commerce growth. Many of these alliances will be showcased at this week's SUPERCOMM '99 exhibition and conference.

Hi Mike:

Adtran is not the only HDSL2 vendor. Both PairGain and ADCT
have announced HDSL2 products in the past few months. One
piece of information I would be curious to have is who is
making the HDSL2 chips that ADTN is using
