Alan, Steve, Leland, or anyone:

I am new to online NYSE trading. Could someone explain to me how the SuperDOT system works. I know that it is an order routing system for exchange listed stocks. However, maybe someone could explain whether the orders are 1) routed to the primary exchange or 2) routed to whichever exchange (NYSE or regional) has the best bid or offer price for that marketable order. Also, any other pertinent information regarding SuperDOT would be appreciated.

If anyone has a detailed understanding about the SuperDOT system, perhaps they could write an in-depth, brain-dump post about it for us all to learn. (Anyone eager enough to take it on as an assignment could find out more and report back!)

Thanks!
