Harry.... it seems to me that my opinions should be as worthwhile as your opinions. >>>Put me down for .32 cents!! I jumped in for 500 shares today at 23 5/16 and will buy 500
more if it drops below 22 1/2. It is always darkest before the dawn. I saw this same
situation with ASND and look where she is now after being down to 22 dollars. If ASND can
do it...Compaq sure as hell can. Enjoy the ride back up.<<<<<< I would suggest that you take 2 chill pills, get some rest, and call me in the morning. Sorry you are losing $$$ on your 1k position. El

1,000 shares at 23 3/16
I would recommend selling covered calls at $25. Buy back only if they hire a competent CEO. (The worst you can do is make a few bucks).

Harold, Looks like you've done some work and analysis before you dumped in money on CPQ, and that is wise. The real question to ask"Is this the best place to put my money?" I believe not. So I guess that's what makes the markets go. I don't buy a stock, putting aside funds to buy more, if it should go lower. Good luck to you, and hope you don't have to average down!

Howie

I agree with you....
Just picked up 300 shares today before
the bell closed at 22 15/16

Will I regret this Nooooo....
If in fact it hits 15 -18 so what I will be down 1200.00
No big deal because in a year this stock will be near
50 ... Look at IBM in 93 Bought 200 shares at 62.00

I now have in 99 6 years later 800 shares
Cost basis 15.00

Long term this Co is a steal...

Just have to be patient....
When the year 2000 comes people will be jumping all
over buying computers feeling they are year 2000 ready.
This is what is happening....

So 6 months from no watch...
BTW CNBC tonight mentioned the growth rate on the semi
conductor business... From 6 % to 12%

Dell and CPQ will fly...
