No joking. In the SUN "Network is the Computer Model" when your server goes down your SOL ... an office full of people standing around the watercooler. If you don't believe me unplug your Sun NFS server and watch all the NFS clients HANG ... it's a nice feature of Solaris 2.5.1/2.6 at least. With ever increasing x86 CPU power and advancements of clustering technology we can now realize true distributed, networked computer model with fault resilience built in. Sun wants to drag us back to the days of the mini-computer and dumb terminals because their margins are in the high end proprietary iron.
