LU Thread,

Regarding EPAC...
(somewhat off the current topic here)

I have seen very little talk about the EPAC standard that LU developed. It is my understanding that they will benefit from licensing the technology to those content providers looking for a more secure means of distribution than currently offered by competing SDMI standards.

I understand some of the security is built into the OS which Lucent employs, but I was curious whether or not it is also dependent on the serialization features incorporated into the flash card.

Does anybody follow this technology or is it just a novelty item? How did LU get involved in this in the first place?

My personal interest is the choice of storage media and whether the LU EPAC solution is dependent on the CF standard. I am specifically looking for e-commerce solutions which give the CF standard additional functionality.
