Bryan,
Thanks for posting that report. Can you tell us where it came from? I'm not sure what I think about the credibility of the analysis. For example, this statement struck me as strange:

Maxtor has long been known for being the leader in providing high performance drives for sophisticated PCs.

Do people really think of Maxtor in that kind of role? I don't, personally. I would think that would be a more apt description for Seagate or even IBM. What do other readers of this thread think?
It also sounded a bit funny to refer to this industry as "stagnant" when it is characterized by furious technological development and rapidly changing external and internal competitive forces. Hmmm.

To Berthot: Screw this analyst!!! Analysts have
been wrong before. Back in early February a bimbo
who writes for Barrons said the oil stocks were
in no way, shape or form anywhere close to breaking
out to the upside. Boy was that Bimbo wrong!! I'm
holding on to my WDC. Sure, I might have to wait
a few quarters for a nice move, but lets face it
what am I going to do pull my money out and put
it in a CD paying 4.5%!! I'm staying put with WDC,
and will buy additional shares on any dips into
the 6s!! GO WDC, GO BABY!!!

At what point did Individual Investor gain credibility? I must admit I have not given them ANY attention over the last couple of years. For II to be down on any company in the past was a bullish signal. Time to short SEG and buy WDC? ;)
