Well, that's what seems to be one of the factors driving the stock down (i.e. the possibility of revised earnings), that and the heat wave on the East Coast (I think it's hotter in Connecticut than it is in Florida).

As far as the need for cash, revenues seem to be good (Wells, and others are reporting decent growth, First Union going to war, etc.), so maybe CheckFree plans to spend more. The only places I can see additional spending would be in Advertising/Marketing (a change in strategy) or possibly a new segment in business (Visa JV, business to business, etc). Even so, I can't see a drastic change in spending and I think most of us would welcome marketing that would give CheckFree better name recognition.
