Frank: Good point, but still Novell must evaluate the timing of such a sale. I still can't imagine that they would be that anxious to get over the hurt from their WP experience. After all, Dr. Schmidt had no part of it.

Your comment caused me to consider the "other side" of my "comment." Maybe Novell filed to sell the shares because they "had seen the Beta" and are awaiting Q2 results to see if there is a bounce in the share price. This is nothing but improbable speculation, but the thought is interesting.

The fact is that regardless of "why" Novell filed, they are supposed to be direct competitors with MSFT. So they should still implement the very fine WP Office 2000 company wide and publicize it. Oracle and Sun should do the same. Corel execs should be heavy on these companies for this cause.

Imagine if Novell, Sun and Oracle were to implement the Suite and formally announce it. The door would be wide open for renewed corporate sales. Corel has a great opportunity right now.
