Heretic, Gang, FYI on trading in energy stocks today...

-- ENERGY -- Basic Materials
08-Jun-99 09:53:23 Oil-related issues are among the most actively advertised
stocks in the pre-trade market, per I-Watch. Prices in the sector are generally
weaker this morning, taking their cue from crude oil. The July contract for sweet
crude oil has dipped $0.14 to $17.72 after rising over $1 between Thursday's
close and yesterday's close at $17.86. The weekly inventory report on gas and
oil from the American Petroleum Institute is due out after the close today and
traders appear reluctant to bid stocks higher ahead of the report. I-Watch shows
that selling interest was strongest before the open this morning, but has since
retracted a bit as stock prices dip in early trading. Conversely, the volume of
Super Bid messages are rising, as investors are attracted to the market by
declining share prices.
