Uncle Frank: How about another go at what are the full fledged gorillas? The last round brought out various views but little consensus beyond the silverbacks and the Q, no? There seems to be near unanimity on Cisco and Qualcomm. Microsoft and Intel have very very strong support and are without question silverbacks. But there are a few skeptics around on them - not so much about their "gorillaness" but whether they are the best investment opportunities right now. And SAP has been an on again /off again gorilla. Others have strong supporters but no consensus. This is the best I have been able to judge up to now. What am I missing?

And is it fair to take the next step and assume all repeat all of the others included in your list are kings - or are a few princes lurking in the shadows?

Still learning.

Best regards,

Chaz too

Thanks, Uncle Frank, for your unwavering graciousness, decorum and welcoming spirit, not to mention your clear beacon for attracting informed and intelligent discourse. I can certainly stand to learn from this thread and its setting store by gorillas and kings. My way, in the past (but it has been changing!), was to bypass the clear and convincing winners because I convinced myself that i) their run was done and ii) I could find a better result in the road less taken. Ain't necessarily so.

Best regards. Steven
