I think the inflation numbers are not based on reality anyway. It seems to me that things
have been getting more expensive during the 90s.


Boy, have you got that right .. I seem to remember about
2 yrs ago the government 'changed' their inflation calculation
and the reason behind it was so that the government's COLA
adjustments would be understated .. CNBC used to run a weekly
spot .. they had 8 - 10 locations around the country where
they had individuals shop for the same list of 12 everyday items
Milk .. a gallon of gas .. razor blades etc etc and they would
turn that into an index .. it was always rising faster than the
government numbers for the same time period .. too bad they
stopped doing it ..
