I looked into a bunch of companies, and most of them have developed broader funds, although I believe that Vanguard is leading the trend, as it did with index funds in the first place. So far, for the last few years, large caps are still the best, and S&Ps average as well or better than the various new configurations. But I will keep an eye on it, and if the broader fund seems to be doing better, move. Of course, I have my own theory for the immediate future, which is that if the market gets shaky, blue chips will absorb a lot of the capital that had gone to more speculative ventures, so even if the market gets somewhat "bearish", I am likely to do okay...
