YAHOOOO!!!

Thank you E*Trade.

Folks, prepare for the rise of the living dead: we faint-of-heart clickers who said to hell with it after a while because of the low odds of getting the first minute. "Two hours? Yahoo!! Can do easy!"

A smart move by E*Trade, I think. IPO's are all about bringing people to their site, and more people will play the game if they think they have a chance.

Luck to us all.

Best wishes,
Tom

You're now likely to have a one-in-50 (or less) chance of getting an IPO even as a non-flipper, no matter what you do. Yeeha. I hope those whiners who provided "a great deal of feedback" are happy with ruining the only place where one had some control over his chance of getting an IPO.

If E*Trade starts looking at trading volume or account size I'll move my account (with a size larger than my 14-years-of-experience software engineer's annual salary) elsewhere on general principle.

My feedback to E*Trade:

I've managed to participate in several of your IPOs due to my vigilance in watching your IPO pages. You've just murdered a system which gave me control over my chance of getting into an IPO and replaced it with one where I'd have a better chance of rolling snake-eyes than getting an IPO. I'm considering closing my account.
