Dave, Yes I find the Bollinger bands excellent; they are a variation of (offset) moving averages; just don't use them with straight MA's because there would be too much going on, on the screen (I've tried). As I'm sure you know Bands (e.g. Keltner bands) are a well-established concept, the Bollinger Bands are an enhancement - ostensibly "smarter" than other types of bands, with the width of the bands being volatility-based (calculated from the ATR, as I recall). I have traded with them in the past, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again - a great tool. Jake Bernstein has some killer setups in his seminars, based upon trading outside the bands, etc. Regards, -Steve
