Elmer! - <Kash, when Intel introduced their .25u process the first product was a Pentium for laptops. The new process provided a power savings while still providing good although not earth shaking performance. This gave Intel a pilot product to use as a process monitor, gathering valuable data on the process before moving their flagship on to a new unproven process. I think the 400MHz "dumb shrink Dixon" is intended for exactly the same purpose.>

Saints preserve us, THANK YOU! I feel like I'm sitting in a meeting ~6 months ago, when I first starting hearing the word "Dixon". Very, very perceptive Elmer.

Dixon is what it is supposed to be. As I said, I would expect a speed upgrade or two before Coppermine comes out through various continuous improvement activity, which I'm sure you could guess the nature of.
