Ericsson (ERICY: news, msgs) said Tuesday the wireless phone maker's
new T18 phone has seen a better-than-expected debut in Europe. The
product rolls out next month in the U.S. Also coming are a T28 GSM
pocket phone and a ruggedized cellular phone that resists impact when
dropped. vice Gary Pinkham, president of business development, said work
is progressing on Ericsson's acquisition of Qualcomm's (QCOM: news,
msgs) code division multiple access technology unit. The company has
retained the 1,250 employees selected from the move. It plans to
agressively seek out more CDMA contracts. After the bell, Ericsson said
it's investing $13 million in Iceland based Internet software developer,
OZ.com, which offers services to phones with Web access.

Notice that Gilder mentions UPCOY as one of the beneficiaries of TERN. UPCOY is the subsidiary of UIHIA the holding company with cable operations, broadband throughout europe, australia & s. america. I don't think most people realize that UIHIA is the @home for the rest of the world and when they do it's a $200 stock. I'm putting my bet there rather than on TERN, the supplier, until another Christiansen disruptive technology comes along.

But, I would suggest that if UPCOY is a buyer of TERN's product then so will the rest of UIHIA which should bode well for your investment.

Just a thought.
