Yeah, they ruined it all right, they made it fair. What do you mean by fair? If by fair you mean that no matter what effort you put forth on your own to be successful at getting the IPO you'll end up no better off than someone who lazily checks the page once or twice a day, I'll take unfair. Under the old rules you actually could increase your chances by your own effort. Now it's only a lottery ticket. "It's so unfair that someone has a better chance of succeeding than I do. I insist that you handicap those who are winning so I'll have a chance, too." "Fair" in this area means taking something from someone to give to someone else.
