New York, June 8 (Bloomberg) -- Global Crossing Ltd. Chief
Executive Robert Annunziata reportedly told participants
yesterday at an investment conference sponsored by Deutsche Bank
AG's investment banking unit Alex, Brown that Global Crossing is
considering future acquisitions and wants to increase overseas
distribution capacity, financial news network CNBC reported.
Global Crossing senior management said sales of its subsea
network capacity remain healthy and it's beginning to book
capacity for a joint venture cable system. Qwest Communications
International Inc. also may be considering ''making a move'' on
U S West Inc. soon and could be trying to line up a partner to
''bring cash to the table,'' CNBC said.

Global Crossing, a 2-year-old company that's building an
undersea global phone network, and U S West Inc. said last month
they will unite in a $37 billion merger.
