Actually.. the article is wrong on several fronts. GTE is NOT the first carrier to roll out a service as we already know that Pacific Bell Mobile Rolled out Wildfire 2 years back, and more recently rolled out their own branded service "Personal Assistant" (http://www.pacbellassistant.com) just a few weeks back which someone I beleive attributed the technology for to Webley out of Chicago.
I think GM's PR department needs to do some serious work, but we also need to temper our reading of news pieces with the realization that reporters are only human and though we know about UM, many do not, and have much shorter deadlines to do DD for their reports. You may also recall that two weeks ago Ameritech also announced that THEY were the only company to roll out a UM service as well.

On another note I am still not terribly impressed with Portico's new features. I use Portico and Webley as I have said before and Webley has been able to do everything that Portico just added with the exception of the voice notification and the web features for the past year. In addition Portico also does not support conference calling which is a great service that Webley does offer and I personally use a great deal. The creating and forwarding of messages within Portico to other subscribers is something Webley has also been able to do for the past year, and you can also forward faxes and emails as well which I did not see Portico mention.

I do not pretend to know all that much about the tech side of things, a friend of mine said building a system on NT would be difficult, prehaps that is why Portico has taken so long to add new features Vs. the Unix-based Webley, I don't know. All I know is that this stock is down hugely from when I first started posting to this board last summer, and our competitors seems to be beating us to actual market (vs. market trials) over and over again.

JC
