I don't love any stock. If you read some of my posts going back you'll see that I think SUNW could have a very bright future if they could agressively exploit Java and could initiate a desktop strategy (as they are losing ground to MSFT). So far they've spent millions providing freeware which has spurred a software development revolution but they've yet to devise a plan to get themselves on the money wave of that endeavor.

Also unfortunately Java tech is still very buggy (especially the UI components) even though Zander annouced last year at Java ONE (Feb 98) that Sun was dedicating themselves to performance and stability now rather than features.

Java consulting $ is what Sun needs to move them forward. These consulting opportunities would also spur iron sales; by having on-site presence.

If MSFT really believed in this lagre desktop Bull...they would not spend millions of dollors in R&D trying to improve scalability of NT...They would have a large number of single CPU machines address their very serious scalability problem...
