Caught me with my pants down that time (metaphorically speaking only, of course)!

Otto Rank? The birth trauma man? The orgone box man?! I always found that a little rank...And anybody who would get mixed up with Anais Nin had to have his own head examined, rather than go around examining other people's heads...

I must confess that I had to do a little web search to find out who Carlos Saures is/was. I came across this comment, on a discussion board:

What is excitement about Suares? What reason to say “wow”? Last time I read, maybe twenty years back, I remember he say things like “this so” and “that so”, but nothing to back up words. Suares not modest guy.

I decide revisit him and find book in back of used store, with others by Freud and like. I read him again. I not say “wow!”.

And to prove that I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP, as Dave Barry would say, here is the URL:

google.com

Now, Becker I have heard about, and my little web search showed that I might indeed have been missing something. The only thing that puts me off is this reader's comment, from the Amazon.com web site:

I just finished the book today. It took me a while to finish it, but a book of this caliper takes time to read.

I am not sure I want to read a book of calipers.

And what is their prose style like? I never read philosophers that have a bad prose style (especially if they are psychoanalysts). That fortunately reduces the field of contenders for my attention considerably, at least to manageable proportions. <g>
