Earlie -

(...I actually do see it as exactly like Iridium...)

For Rambus to be like Iridium their business plan would have to something like the following -

1. For every Rambus IC, a bonded Rambus employee would have to chant an encoded magic incantation over the chip at midnight local time at the wafer production stage.

2. Since the incantation is a company secret, the employee must be updated every 24 hours in Colorado or he will be put into a failsafe condition by 3 oz. of plastique embedded in a tooth and triggered by a watchdog timer circuit.

3. For Asian production, this requires that Rambus lease the entire Concorde fleet full time and contract a new SST fleet from Boeing. A buyout and expansion of the Denver airport and the fixing of its baggage handling system is also required.

4. Having accomplished all this, Rambus will receive all of its revenues by a special tax on the final computers at the point of sale, with the naming of Rambus as a life insurance beneficiary as an alternative.

Regards, Don
