re: hui zhou/G. Morales: The Kosovo War, a decision made by people like Albright, Clinton, Blair, Josepin,Schroeder...and the rest of the gang, As a German I feel I should make a marginal correction. To find the beauty in it: Schroeder didn't decide anything. He just went for a friendship visit to his even more glamorous friends in London and Washington, to tell them "I have just been elected at home. Please offer me some cake. Then we might take some pictures together, I would like to show them at home." Answer: "Gerhard, we have to go on war against Serbia." Schroeder: "I like to join in all your games, but this one I do not know. Is it fun?" Answer: "Hey, Gerd, your predecessor told us already some months ago you would give us some of your nicest tech games." Schroeder: "Oh, then it will be o.k. That guy understood politics... But somehow he doesn't move out of my new villa. And he doesn't like my latest wife." Schroeder, some minutes later: "But, it just occurs to me, I will have to explain this to my foreign secretary. He has been a noted anti-militarist when he was young. He even opposed american nuclear rockets being deployed in Western Germany." Clinton: "Don't worry. That war won't take place inside Germany. And that guy Fischer is o.k. Even he married again a few months ago." Schroeder: "But ... but... but what should I tell the population? We used to tell them German troops will never be operational, especially not outside Germany." Clinton, Blair, unisono: "Don't w o r r y, Gerd. The less you tell them. the better. They will think what a dynamic and glamorous young man you are you are. Plus you might visit us again soon, wouldn't that be nice ?" So this guy cannot be held responsible at all. Neither can other Germans, they all did what he (had been) told. Only the conservatives slightly opposed deployment of further troops after three/four weeks. Otherwise, Germany's amateur politicians just aired loud what they silently had heard from Britain and America. The German engagement in the air attacks is pretty small, only six airplanes (Tornado). But as a German citizen I definitely think I have been informed too little and too less on the German takeing part in the military actions. MNI
