Yes, you do have to question statistics, even the computer industry almanac. How many 486 or newer computers have been sold? I have always questioned the web usage statistics. Are they like the NASDAC volume? How many computers do you own? How many email accounts do you have? Does it make any difference?

Oh yes, I definitely agree that we should always wonder about the quality of any statistics given out in an article or argument. So, let's say that 2 or even 3 out of a 100 own or use computers around the world, that's still a very small fraction so far of the total world's population. Either there is a lot of room for growth in that area, or the great majority of the world's citizens will remain without a PC.
