jp, that's great that you have found a group to share you talent with. I just returned from my quality study group and I can't tell you how much I enjoy our time together. We laugh at our geekie shared interest! Sometimes it can be a real scream when someone say's, "are we really sitting here trying to computer another Taguchi loss function"? Probably the only group of 40 something year olds that have a good time sitting around computing 4 level factorials or playing with statistica software. :-)

It's kinda too bad that no one else on SI shares this interest. I started a thread on quality and ended up talking to myself. :-)

I envy you for having so many writers to correspond with.

Michael

That sounds really, really great, jp! You sound so excited!!! How did you find them? Were you nervous? Were they warm and inclusive? How long have they been together? It would terrify me to share stuff with other writers- I'd be afraid they'd tell me to get back to the kitchen.

THere is a group in Deep Ellum in Dallas- (the artsy area) I met a woman who was in it but it sounded very formal- and it was really more of a class- you paid. They had to write short stories. THere is a teacher, she said he read his stuff too, and would tell you how to write commercially, which I would hate.
