I seriously doubt that. In today's dollars The richest man who ever lived was Rockefeller - at $190 billion or so, before the breakup of Standard Oil. The Robber Barons and such at the turn of the century held more wealth, in today's dollars, than most. I think Gates is around between numbers 10 and 5 as the richest. And he plans on giving most of it away, just like Buffett.

money is money, i would love to have a billion. No one can compare to bill gates, his monetary destiny is divine, a unknown higher power is at work.
