Hola, ed. 71% of all "wired" Americans currently use AOL. Even though getting onto the Internet through their browser is slow and clumsy. You're definitely right, they're a community, an interface, and well entrenched with their subscriber base. They're not just an "ISP." DELL probably won't skim off much of their base, but considering Dell's internet presence, there's certainly a captive audience for DellNet. But isn't the situation in Europe much different because you pay for local calls? I'm not sure if they would offer the same here, but if they did, right now only one out of four Americans is using the Internet, so there's a lot of room for new users to be signed up. Plus I would imagine many households would just use two ISPs. If you get a free one, why not? For instance, someone else in the house could be on AOL, and you could use DellNet on a separate phone line.
