Yes, I can understand why you find it easier to relate to other Christians, at it's core it is not unlike rooting for the home professional team:-)

I would ask you this question though. Regardless of the person's religion, as a human being, aren't their fears just as scary? Isn't their facing their own mortality for the reasons of achieving a lofty goal just as impressive? Facing death for a religious reason is just as scary and noble(depending if you feel if it is indeed a noble act)
if you are a kid in high school in Denver facing a madmanwith a rifle as it is if you are a little girl in Germany hiding from the Nazi's, or a a child from a village in Africa, running from a an adult with a machete.

As for the Bible, Yes Anne Frank read it ( she just read the prequel and not the sequel) :-)

Dr. King certainly read it.

The other people most likely read whatever holy books are relevant to their religion.

They are all God's children.
